Grand Avenue Homes

In partnership with Boise Neighborhood Housing Services, Trout Architects has designed their fourth multi-family housing project. Twenty townhouses have been designed in downtown Boise at the corner of 15th Street and Grand Avenue to meet the need for moderate priced urban housing.

Sixteen townhouses modulate along three streets to define an interior courtyard. These units all have an on grade front door off the street, two balconies, and a rear door directly off of a covered carport. Exterior color, change of materials and position are used to help define each unit. The remaining four units are over accessible ground floor condominiums and are located at the two corners of the block to create visual terminuses for the grouping.

The units range in size from 785 to 1,344 square feet with two parking spaces per unit. The intent of the design is to fit within the existing neighborhood to help facilitate an urban revitalization of the area.

Construction is currently underway, with a Spring of 2008 projected date of completion.
