Boise Veterans Administration Medical Center Campus
Program, design and construction documents for various maintenance improvement and renovation projects.
We have provided programming and design services for renovation/relocation/expansion of the Physical Therapy Department in Bldg. 88 as well as the renovation and re-planning of the X-Ray Department in the basement of Bldg. 85. Each of these buildings is adjacent to the project site.
Our work with VAMC-Boise over the last two years has provided us with valuable knowledge of the VAMC on-site utility grid system, administrative structure, working methodologies and drafting standards. We are familiar with the proposed site and surrounding buildings including the overall campus material palette and design esthetic.
Our familiarity with the project site indicates to us that the project will involve significant utility relocation and vibration isolation techniques during construction. It appears to us that such a project will require a design having an integrated phasing plan to allow maximum construction effort with minimum interruption of existing departmental operations.
We have provided services for the following VA projects:
VA Radiation: add backup cooling for MRI unit, upgrade interior finishes in public and patient
x-ray rooms and replan x-ray central processing core
VA Physical Therapy: reconfigure interior spaces and design new addition for relocated physical therapy function, revise existing interior ducting and steam lines, tie new single ply roof system into existing building
VA Physical Canteen: revise existing mechanical system for in-house VA constructed canteen remodel
VA Dental Clinic: revise existing dental lab cabinetry and upgrade existing venting system to improve working conditions in an overheated and under ventilated dental laboratory
VA Mold Removal: document and co-ordinate design for removing mold in storage, library, meeting and support spaces located in three historical basement building spaces
