Trout Architects was retained by the McDonald’s Corporation to redesign their standard restaurant facility, with kids play area, for the Columbia Village Shopping Center site in Boise, Idaho. This re-design was required because the standard McDonald’s facade design would not pass the City’s special design review and requirements at this location.
This special re-design required the final design of the project to incorporate McDonald’s important iconic architectural branding elements and signage while also integrating new architectural elements that associates the building to the local area. This new design meet with unanimous approval of the City Design Review Board in it’s first application for approval.
