The Churchill School was originally a grade school when built in 1926 until it was decommissioned in 2002. The building was purchased from the local school district and sat vacant until recently when the new owners decided to restore and use the historic building.
The 29,500 square foot school building is being converted into an art center which includes a large auditorium with stage, commercial kitchen, an overnight hostel, and two apartments. The art center functions include an art gallery, multiple art studios, wood working and metal fabrication shops, and a recording studio.
