Trout Architects and their structural consultant, AHJ Engineering, were retained by the Malheur Country Historical Society to provide an analysis of their 1901 First Bank of Vale building which they had just recently acquired.
This small bank, designed in a rudimentary Richardson Romanesque style, was constructed of local sandstone. There had been a fire in the attic which the repairs were extremely poorly accomplished. There is significant water damage to both the inside and exterior rock walls.
The Malheur Country Historical Society is currently looking for grant opportunities to start to preserve this wonderful building.
