The Gene Harris Bandshell was constructed in 1928 in a Spanish Mission style.
In April of 2018 there was a significant fire which damaged a wall and burned away most of the upper roof. After the damaged building was stabilized, the City of Boise hired Trout Architects to design all the required repairs and update the building to current accessibility codes. New electrical and audio-visual systems are to be added. A new large green room will be constructed in a new basement complete with a vertical lift.
