Trout Architects/Chartered and their prime consultant EDAW, were tasked with developing a new master plan of future growth and development for this Harriman State Park in Island Park, Idaho. New construction included an entry road, ranch gate signage, and parking areas.
Comprised of five different building projects totaling over 10,800 SF, work on this project included historic preservation, adaptive reuse, and new construction of park buildings. These projects added additional park overnight accommodations, a commercial kitchen, dining and meeting halls.
Currently participating in a LEED certification pilot program for rural park projects, the project extensively recycled existing buildings and materials. All products were selected for non-voc qualities. Dual-flush toilets and other water conservation measures were incorporated.
