Trout Architects had the opportunity to work with the Boise Main Pubic Library on a remodel of an existing 3,750 square foot support services area on the first floor. This area of the library is where incoming and outgoing books and CDs are processed and restored. It is a hub of constant activity of staff and book carts. Working closely with the Library management Trout Architects inventoried the existing equipment and interviewed the management and staff to determine their needs, material, and workflow requirements and then designed a new efficient and vibrant environment.
Their new space is comprised of panel office desk systems and organized in a fashion dictated by the requirements of the different departments. Additional upgrades to the space included new windows in the exterior walls to allow more natural lighting into the space, all new ADA compliant restrooms, staff lockers, and a new modern HVAC system.
